    Details Fisher House of the Emerald Coast is located on Eglin Air Force Base in Northwest Florida and provides a “home away from home” for military families so they can be together during treatment for serious illness or physical/occupational therapy. The House is within steps of the Eglin Air Force Base Hospital and Veteran’s Clinic. They provide resources for military families in crisis. Annually the Fisher House program serves more than 27,000 families and has made available nearly 10 million days of lodging to family members since the program originated in 1990.

    Details The 14th annual Girls Just Wanna Have Fun event is going virtual. Virtual attendees can buy a new Purse-onality for $25, $50, or $100 or a Ditty bag for $12 each. The Purse-onality contains a surprise inside that can be anything from a gift certificate, jewelry, or even a small piece of artwork. The Ditty bag is a small mesh bag packed with various goodies from local businesses and represents a one-night stay at the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile provides a supportive home environment to families with seriously ill and injured children treated at area hospitals and allows them to be close to their hospitalized child. In Mobile, the Ronald McDonald House can hold up to 38 families and has served almost 9,000 families since it opened in February 2000.

Their mission is to honor the sacrifice of soldiers by improving the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. The Legions advocate for veterans and promote patriotism, good citizenship, harmony, and safekeeping.

    Details The Magnolia Springs Firefighter’s Festival is a way for the Magnolia Springs Volunteer Fire Department to raise funds to provide a high level of service to the citizens and visitors of their area.  Magnolia Springs Volunteer Fire Department serves the community of Magnolia Springs Alabama and the outlying areas. Consisting of 30 volunteers, they respond primarily to 35 squares miles of residential, wildland, and waterfront areas. They are an active part of their community and promote fire prevention in local schools and community events. The festival is a fun family event that includes food, vendor booths, exhibits, entertainment, and much more!

    The 12th Annual Prodisee Pantry Turkey Trot is a 5K Race, 1-mile Fun Run/Walk & Family Friendly Festival that has become a tradition for many area families and businesses. Every entry to the race purchases a turkey for a family in need for Thanksgiving. All proceeds fund Prodisee Pantry’s coordinated effort with various nonprofits and churches to provide a “Norman Rockwell” type holiday feast for Baldwin County families who are hungry. The pantry strives to ease the hunger pains of Baldwin County residents in need. They have assisted over 151,050 Baldwin County families facing hardship stemming from job loss, medical expenses, natural disasters, and other crises.

    Details The 17th annual Gumbo Gala is a fundraiser for Episcopal Place. Each Spring 40 cook teams battle it out to determine who has the best gumbo. This friendly competition draws crowds upwards of 3,000, who arrive hungry and ready to sample gumbo throughout the day. Guests also enjoy live music, local artists, and plenty of kids' activities. Gumbo Gala was born from a gesture to welcome new residents at Episcopal Place. Shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans (in 2005), Episcopal Place gained several new residents who had lost their homes from the storm. To welcome them, the Episcopal Place staff threw a gumbo party in their honor. It is one of the largest gumbo competitions in the South and the largest Episcopal event in Alabama.
